Disney College Program Fall 2016: Check-In, Traditions, and Training

This will be a short post. It’s been a while since I wrote an article about the DCP.  I’ve been here for almost a month now, so I thought it would be good to write an update. So, I checked into one of the CP complexes on June 6. It was really fast this time around since I checked in at the complex where I was actually going to stay. They used to give us our work location in the check-in process, but they didn’t this time, and I got it when I went to casting. I was a bit disappointed when I found out I was working in a resort and not a park, but I liked the resort I got, so I was fine. Traditions was alright, but it was a lot longer than I remembered previously and we spent less time walking around Magic Kingdom.

Training took about three weeks since they spread out our training on different stations and mixed in regular shifts with it. I love the people I work with but I don’t really like the job. It’s boring, and they have WAY too many people working there. I’m just hoping that perhaps I get deployed somewhere else or get to work Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival because I feel like I’m going to lose my mind being in such a boring location! Anyway, that’s how my DCP life is going. Hopefully it gets better. On the plus side, I like my roommates, and I’m really not miserable at work, I just wish I were busier.
