So, yesterday I decided to make cheesecake pops for a bake sale (well, more like a bake auction) that I was to participate in today. In all, it took about 6 hours to make, but that was when I was rushing. Really, if I would have done it the right way, it would have taken about twelve hours or even longer, but, since I’m a procrastinator, and I didn’t have some ingredients until nighttime, I rushed through it because I wanted to sleep. Nevertheless, these cheesecake pops, much to my great joy and satisfaction, turned out very nicely. Whenever I begin to bake and create something new, I always get nervous that either my creation is going to be ugly or the taste is going to be bad, but that didn’t happen. They tasted really good (I even ate a whole one, though I’m not a big cheesecake fan) and most of the cheesecake pops looked really cute!
I used Chantal’s New York Cheesecake recipe. If you’re looking for a good cheesecake recipe, choose this one: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/chantals-new-york-cheesecake/Detail.aspx
So, here’s how they looked after I rolled them into balls (the process is messy for the hands, but, I liked it. The cold/gooey cheesecake felt good on my hands, kind of like lotion. I’m really weird…haha!). Not very pretty, are they?:
And here is how they looked after I stabbed them– Oh! I mean gently put lollipop sticks into their centers (Note: This is the easiest process):
Here is how they look after being frozen for an hour and a half, (even though it was supposed to be at least 3 hours) dipped into melted semi-sweet morsels, or chocolate chips, and coated with various and colorful sprinkles, almonds, and cinnamon graham cracker crumbs (And, yeah…I made my brother hold them, teehee.):
And after freezing them for many hours, I decided to showcase the second best of my creations (for the first best went to the auction, of course). Please excuse my poor photo editing skills. I did try my best, but the talent is just not there…
Well, despite my horrible photo editing skills, the cheesecake pops looked pretty cute, right? These were fun and, though time consuming, easy to make. If you want something fun to bake and create, then cheesecake pops are the way to go. Even if you don’t like cheesecake, there’s a possibility that you might like these. I would definitely make these again!
